I LUV...
Because my publication mirrors Oprah's 'O' magazine in every way, including, the "Things We Love" section; it was only fitting I did a similar piece.
This week, I am in love with:
The 2015 Women's World Cup. Yeeeeeessssss.Click HERE
Check out the 23 stories. These women athletes are amazing and awe-inspiring. It is hard to find professional athletes who are still competing in their late 30's and have won multiple championships and World Cup's. Oh, and had a couple kids en route. No biggie.
This-
Caboodle.
I stared at it in shock, then joy, then was considering buying it. Because I really need one. I do. It would bring me to organization nirvana and I would redeem myself from my childhood faux pas.
I had one, like all 9 and 10 year-old girls back in the late 80's. I got one to fit in, but my purple crapboodle didn't hold anything of interest. Maybe my one jar of nail polish, the three ribbons I used to make my ponytail look 'fancy,' and probably some tacky-ass pink Tinkerbell lipstick I managed to commandeer, to let the other 6th grade girls I was down with beautification.
But let's be honest. My brothers used it as a parking garage for their Matchbox cars.
I was giddy with joy finding this treasure at Target. Since girls ages 13-21 are wearing midriff's again, with high-rise,'Mom' jeans and jellies, why not bust out the Caboodle.
And the Care Bears.
Also at Target. I bought this little gem because I couldn't help myself. I know I have my old one tucked away in a storage bin, so this will suffice till I dig up ol' Cheer. Again, I was completely overjoyed. My childhood was picking up speed and it was rounding a corner, and ran into-
Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield from the Sweet Valley High book series. Trashy novels for pre-teens. These were my pre-cursor to Days of Our Lives, US Weekly and People Magazine. I couldn't get enough of their ridiculous story lines, horrible characters, and heinous titles. They were glorious. Mental Floss had me doubled over the other night with this ditty: http://m.mentalfloss.com/article.php?id=64790
Oh, Jessica. You really were cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.
The article also mentions Shannon's Sweet Valley High Blog which is utterly hystetical. I want to be friends with Shannon and don't know the best way to broach the subject.
Sweet Valley High is fictional, but the new book by Wednesday Martin, Primates of Park Avenue, is decidedly not. There has been some backlash about the book, citing some of the stories the author writes about the insanely rich, Upper East Side stay-at-home moms are incorrect and fictional.Possibly her experiences and accounts as well. And, maybe the writing is piss poor. Maybe so, but I don't care. I kinda want to hear about the 'wife bonuses' that equate to a new car. Of course, movie rights have been scooped up and I smell a prodigious Lifetime movie in the works.

Speaking of Lifetime...
A Deadly Adoption starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig will be airing on Lifetime this Saturday, June 20, 2015.TONIGHT PEOPLE! That's right, Lifetime. Parody? Drama? Both? Will Ferrell looks undoubtedly disturbing and has a constipated/confused/deranged look on his face. Like, he can't decide if he needs more cowbell or if a Spartan cheer is needed. Either way, I will be watching. Can't. Wait.
